The township has not yet implemented specific source water education/outreach efforts. Staff have highlighted importance of SWP through recent Infrastructure Masterplan (IMP) Study, specifically noting the concerns with private wells using rural groundwater. The hope is that further education/outreach will stem from the recommendations made through the IMP study.

Policy Text:
The Cataraqui Source Protection Authority should consider coordinating its targeted efforts, as well as those of local partners, and communicate, via Conservation Ontario, with those provincial partners who deliver relevant education and outreach programs so that educational resources are updated to include related drinking water source protection information for use vulnerable areas where moderate or low drinking water threats can or do occur.

d. The Source Protection Authority should prepare a report that includes a description of what steps are being taken to determine the extent to which the program has achieved its objectives, and suggestions to improve the effectiveness of the education and outreach program.
