Milton's new Official Plan project has been initiated and this policy will be implemented through the new Official Plan. Once complete, the Zoning By-Law will be updated to conform. Milton will take into consideration the policy requirements.
Policy Text:
Where the future handling and storage of fuel would be a significant drinking water threat,
a. the Region of Halton, Town of Milton, and the City of Hamilton shall prohibit gas stations through Planning Act tools.
Monitoring Text:
T-41-C (b): The municipal planning authority shall provide copies of their planning documents to the Source Protection Authority when they have been amended to conform with the policy to prohibit gas stations.
