IN 2023, Halton Region, through Report PW-38-23, did identify 83 properties with drinking water threats to be addressed by way of Risk Management Plans. The report did not identify any in the Halton-Hamilton SP Region.

The town worked with Halton Region to update the Salt Management Plan. The updated plan was approved by Council in May 2018. There has been and will be continuous improvement integrated into salt management strategies and practices.
Policy Text:
Where the existing and future application, or handling and storage of
road salt would be significant, moderate or low drinking water threats,
a. within two years of the date that the Source Protection Plan comes
into effect, the municipalities shall amend their salt management
plans to identify the location of wellhead protection areas, issue
contributing areas, and intake protection zones and to enhance best
management practices in these areas.

b. the municipalities shall advise the Source Protection Authority of the
revision to the salt management plans when completed and provide
a status update by February 1 of each year until completed.
