Although no threats have yet been identified, a process is in place to review all upcoming applications that fall within the vulnerable area to capture any potential drinking water threats.

Policy Text:

In accordance with Section 59 of the Clean Water Act, 2006, all land uses where significant drinking water threat activities have been designated for the purpose of Section 57 or Section 58 of the Clean Water Act, 2006 are hereby designated as Restricted Land Uses and a written notice from the Risk Management Official shall be required prior to approval of any Building Permit, Planning Act or Condominium Act application.

Monitoring Text:

KCSPA-CW-1.9: The Risk Management Official shall provide a report to the Source Protection Authority, by February 1st of each year, summarizing the actions taken to implement the Source Protection Policies, in accordance with the Clean Water Act, 2006 and associated regulations.
