The ministry has implemented its commitment to review and consider the policy. The ministry utilizes a risk-based approach to its proactive inspection programs. This approach continues to be enhanced through the inclusion of source protection vulnerability information into inspection planning and abatement activities for conditions sites. Please also refer to the program area responses on inspections/compliance for further details. The ministry will continue to report on the actions resulting from the review of the policy.

Policy Text:

To address Conditions resulting from past activities that are significant drinking water threats, the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks should prioritize abatement activities on Conditions Sites located within the Wellhead Protection Area A, Wellhead Protection Area B and Issues Contributing Areas.
