A process is in place to address future Prohibitions for handling and storage of liquid fuel of more than 2,500 liters within a WHPA-A when applications are made under the Planning Act. A monitoring process to address future Prohibitions for handling and storage of liquid fuel of more than 2,500 litres within a WHPA-A that do not require an application under the Planning Act is in progress.
Policy Text:
To ensure any future handling and storage of liquid fuel of more than 2,500 Litres never becomes a significant drinking water threat, where this activity would be a significant drinking water threat within a WHPA-A, this activity shall be designated for the purpose of Section 57 of the Clean Water Act, 2006 and shall be prohibited.
Monitoring Text:
BC-CW-1.11: The Risk Management Official shall provide a report to the Source Protection Authority, by February 1st of each year, summarizing the actions taken by the Risk Management Official to implement the Source Protection Plan policies, in accordance with the Clean Water Act, 2006 and associated regulations.
