According to the County OP Policy, the provision of sewage and water services is the responsibility of the local municipalities. The County will promote efficient and environmentally responsible development which is supportable on the basis of appropriate sewage and water services consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement.

Policy Text:

To ensure any new onsite sewage system with a design flow greater than 10,000 Litres per day and regulated by the Ontario Water Resources Act never becomes a significant drinking water threat, where such an activity would be a significant drinking water threat, the Township and the County of Dufferin, where applicable, shall amend their planning documents to prohibit a related land use.

DC-M-CW-1.9: Where the Township and County of Dufferin is required to amend their Official Plan and/or Zoning By-law and provide proof of compliance to the Source
Protection Authority, they shall do so within 30 days of final approval of the amendment(s) or, where the matter has been appealed to the Ontario Municipal
