2 Nutrient Management Strategies were submitted in the Grand River Source Protection Area in significant drinking water threat areas in 2023. One had an insignificant amount of overlap with WHPA A (property boundaries barely touching) so no action taken. One had conditions placed on approval, where the conditions were: no establishment of an ASM storage, OCA/yard without Director notification and approval. No NMS in Long Point.

Policy Text:

To ensure that the future application and storage of agricultural source materials, where such activities would be significant drinking water threats, never become a significant drinking water threat, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs shall ensure Nutrient Management Strategies and Plans include terms and conditions that, when implemented, will reduce the risk to drinking water sources.

Monitoring Text:

(HC-CW-1.6) Where the Source Protection Plan policies require a provincial ministry to amend a Prescribed Instrument, or issue a new Prescribed Instrument, the applicable Ministry shall provide a summary of the actions taken. The applicable ministry shall provide a written report summarizing this information to the Source Protection Authority by February 1st of each year.
