Land use frameworks in place. Any new commercial or industrial uses are subject to Site Plan Control for detailed review. Official Plan policies adopted by Haldimand County Council; MCR with MMAH for approval.

Policy Text:

To ensure that the future handling and storage of commercial fertilizer and pesticides, where such activities would be significant drinking water threats, never becomes a significant drinking water threat; Haldimand County shall prohibit the storage of commercial fertilizer and pesticides through municipal planning tools.

Monitoring Text:

HC-CW-1.5: Where the County of Haldimand is required to amend their Official Plan and/or Zoning By-law and provide proof of compliance to the Source Protection Authority, they shall do so within 30 days of final approval of the amendment(s).
