Land use and permitted uses controlled through the Comprehensive Zoning bylaws. Any hazardous uses to be reviewed through zone specific allowances and site plan control. Official Plan policies adopted, with MMAH for approval.

Policy Text:

To ensure that the future handling and storage of dense non-aqueous phase liquids and organic solvents for industrial, commercial or institutional purposes, never becomes a significant drinking water threat; Haldimand County will prohibit the activities through municipal planning tools.

Monitoring Text:

HC-CW-1.5: Where the County of Haldimand is required to amend their Official Plan and/or Zoning By-law and provide proof of compliance to the Source Protection Authority, they shall do so within 30 days of final approval of the amendment(s).
