All commercial or industrial operations are required to receive Site Plan approval which would include full assessment regarding fuel storage and handling. Land uses regulated by comprehensive Zoning By-law. Official Plan policies adopted by Council and with MMAH for approval.

Policy Text:

To ensure that the future handling and storage of fuel greater than 2500 Litres never becomes a significant drinking water threat, where such an activity would be significant drinking water threat, Haldimand County shall prohibit this activity through municipal planning tools.

Monitoring Text:

HC-CW-1.5: Where the County of Haldimand is required to amend their Official Plan and/or Zoning By-law and provide proof of compliance to the Source Protection Authority, they shall do so within 30 days of final approval of the amendment(s).
