We are continuing to complete on-site threat verification inspections of properties within the Intake Protection Zone. In 2023 threat verifications that were carried out found no Risk Management Plans were required to manage this threat. We are in the process of ongoing verification of this threat.
Policy Text:
To ensure the existing handling and storage of commercial fertilizer never becomes a significant drinking water threat, within Intake Protection Zone 1, where such an activity is or would be a significant drinking water threat, these activities are designated for the purposes of Section 58 of the Clean Water Act, 2006 and a Risk Management Plan shall be required.
Monitoring Text:
CB-CW-1.8: The Risk Management Official shall provide a report to the Source Protection Authority, by February 1st of each year, summarizing the actions taken by the Risk Management Official to implement the Source Protection Plan policies, in accordance with the Clean Water Act, 2006 and associated regulations.
