To ensure the existing and future application of road salt ceases to be or never
becomes a significant drinking water threat, where this activity is, or would be, a
significant drinking water threat, the Townships, in collaboration with the
Conservation Authority, shall develop and implement an education and outreach
program targeting those who apply road salt. The program will promote the
importance of proper road salt application.

DC-AEG-CW-1.8: Where the Townships are required to implement education and outreach
programs as the primary means of managing the risk associated with
significant drinking water threats, the Townships shall provide a report to the
Source Protection Authority by February 1st of each year. This report must
indicate, at a minimum, the properties where these programs were
implemented and additional details on measures implemented to ensure the
significant drinking water threats cease to be or never become a significant
drinking water threat.
