Policy Text:

To address Conditions resulting from past activities that are significant drinking water threats, the County shall:

a. Continue to support environmental investigation, remediation and redevelopment through the incentives provided through the Community Improvement Plans; and

b. Implement an education program on drinking water issues associated with contaminated sites including the protection of drinking water sources and the use of the Record of Site Condition process as a best management practice to address Condition sites.

Monitoring Text:

BC-CW-1.9: The County shall provide a report to the Source Protection Authority, by February 1st of
each year, summarizing the actions taken to implement the Source Protection Plan Policies.

Where the County is required to implement education and outreach programs as the
primary means of managing the risk associated with significant drinking water threats,
the report must indicate, at minimum, the properties where these programs were
implemented and additional details on how the significant drinking water threat was
managed and/or ceased to be significant.
