Policy Text:

The County in collaboration with Conservation Authorities and other bodies wherever
possible, shall develop and implement education and outreach programs for such
activities that involve existing and future establishment, operation or maintenance of a
waste disposal site, within the meaning of Part V of the Environmental Protection Act
within vulnerable areas, that do not require an Environmental Compliance Approval.
The program should focus on the proper handling, storage and disposal of wastes to
ensure that these activities cease to be or never become significant drinking water
threats.

Monitoring Text:

BC-CW-1.9: The County shall provide a report to the Source Protection Authority, by February 1st of
each year, summarizing the actions taken to implement the Source Protection Plan Policies.

Where the County is required to implement education and outreach programs as the
primary means of managing the risk associated with significant drinking water threats,
the report must indicate, at minimum, the properties where these programs were
implemented and additional details on how the significant drinking water threat was
managed and/or ceased to be significant.
