The aircraft de-icing chemicals policy required a one-time communication to the airport authority and operators regarding runoff containing de-icing materials. A letter was sent to Transport Canada in September of 2015 and copies were previously provided to the GSSPA. The target audience for this policy was reached with the desired outcome.

Policy Text:

The City of Greater Sudbury shall inform regulating authorities, including the airport authority or operator, of the vulnerable areas where runoff containing de-icing materials from a regional or national airport would be a significant threat. This education and outreach policy requires a one-time communication - it is not an ongoing, annual requirement.

Monitoring policy M16 applies.

M16: The City of Greater Sudbury shall provide a copy of the required communications to the Source Protection Authority.
