Inspections are being initiated for a second round in 2026 for the next cycle. Throughout the next five years all properties have been scheduled to receive a second assessment. a) all inspections have been conducted in the 2020-2025 inspection cycle; b) 0 properties have been identified as being non-compliant in 2025; c) 0 minor issues were identified (baffle repairs, lids and pump-outs) and 0 major issues (complete failures on the system) which are being corrected through permits in 2025.

Reporting information includes the number and location of inspections carried out under the maintenance inspection program during the reporting year; b) The number and location of inspections that were not compliant with the septic inspection guideline; and c) For the properties identified in (b), a description of the deficiencies in the system, the orders issued by the inspector, and any follow-up with the system owner. In 2025, two site inspections were conducted for the outstanding 1297 & 1300 Dafoe Drive; 1297 was inspected and will be reinspected in 2030 but 1300 requires a spring visit in 2026 to confirm that the tank was pumped out as indicated by the landowner - snow impeded staff from inspecting tank pumped status.

Policy Text:
Applicable Activities: Sewage systems as defined in section 1 of O. Reg. 350/06 (Building Code) made under the Building Code Act, 1992 that are existing significant drinking water threats or would be future significant drinking water threats.
S-1(1): Report by February 1 of each year to the applicable source protection authority on the implementation of the mandatory maintenance inspection program[1] for the preceding calendar year. The report must, at minimum, include the following information:
a) The number and location of inspections carried out under the maintenance inspection program during the reporting year;
b) The number and location of inspections that were not compliant with the septic inspection guideline; and
c) For the properties identified in (b), a description of the deficiencies in the system, the orders issued by the inspector, and any follow-up with the system owner.
S-1(2): Copy the municipality, building official, and Risk Management Official on all reporting required by Policy S-1(1) unless the municipality is the Principle Authority under the Ontario Building Code Act.
