Where a former industrial site is identified in the Assessment Report as a dense non-aqueous phase liquid (DNAPL) condition and a significant drinking water threat, the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) should advise the Source Protection Authority of any changes known to MECP related to the level of contamination, contaminate migration, and whether such changes may result in a drinking water issue.

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and the municipality (Policy 16-5-E) should also mutually share information, if, and when appropriate, related to technical investigations or remediation, technical data, actions taken by Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks or by Prince Edward County, inspections, other relevant information pertaining to the condition site.

Effective Date:
Within three years of the Plan, or any plan amendment, as applicable, taking effect.

The Ministry shall prepare an annual summary of the actions it has taken to achieve the outcomes of this Source Protection Plan policy and make that report available to the Quinte Source Protection Authority by February 1st each year.
